The International Racehorse Owners Network (IRON) has launched its Genesis Series Racehorse NFTs with 10,000 digital collectibles on the Ethereum Blockchain.

IRON said it aims to democratise the experience of racehorse ownership by allowing a new generation of racing fanatics to access the insider knowledge, behind-the-scenes action and race-day glamour of the sport of kings, through an all-in-one RacehorseNFT Member Pass.
The new sustainability initiative is backed and supported by industry heavyweights and notable Venture Capitalists including Arrowfield’s John Messara, William Inglis & Sons’ Arthur Inglis, Rockingham Thoroughbred’s John Ingham, Muskoka Farm’s David Boehm and Frank Tong and Raymond Cheng of QBN Capital.
When consumers mint or purchase a Genesis Series RacehorseNFT – one of 10,000 digital collectibles– they join IRON, with each member granted access to information and ownership experiences across the Genesis Series stable of seven racehorses, which were handpicked at the 2021 Inglis Easter Yearling Sales.
IRON’s Genesis Series Racehorses are currently in training with Australian trainers such as Chris Waller Racing, Snowden Racing, Mark Newnham Racing, and Annabel Neasham Racing.
IRON will issue $Carrots, a point redemption program designed by IRON, into the wallet of each RacehorseNFT and it will be redeemable on a range of products and services available within the blockchain infrastructure, including hotel vouchers, food and beverage packages at a range of restaurants and money can’t buy trackside experiences.
If members are after a specific product, a request can also be submitted with IRON for the item to be sourced.
“We understand that it is important that our RacehorseNFT members are well looked after and that they are a part of the success, so RacehorseNFT offers all the upside of a traditional racing syndicate or direct horse ownership but with limited downsides,” said a spokesperson of the IRON Executive Office.
They said, “In a syndicate, you would normally start off by buying into the share of just one horse, whereas IRON spreads the risk across a stable of multiple horses, and our members can look forward to many of the benefits that come with the ownership experience.
“While it can traditionally be difficult to offload shares in a racehorse, this will not be an issue for our RacehorseNFT members as IRON will remain as the owner of the horses, while the RacehorseNFT membership is designed to be easily transferred and traded. We know that the younger generation has been looking for a new way to take part in the sport of racing, just not in the same way that we are used to.”
When users join RacehorseNFT, via a one-off payment, they will receive exclusive access to the latest information on your series of racehorses, including weekly audio or video updates from the trainer, knowing when the horses are in training or if they are taking a spell.
Holders will also receive pre-race, post-trial and post-race comments from the trainer and the jockey providing deep insights into the status and conditions of the horse.
Members can also design their own racing silks for their Genesis Series RacehorseNFT avatar in the IRON portal.
The Genesis Series RacehorseNFT by IRON will be made available via racehorsenft.io from September 21 at 9pm.
