IBM chief Sam Palmisano earned US$31.7 million in total compensation last year, up from US$24.3 million a year earlier.
IBM said the 30 percent increase was based on performance, including achieving earnings of US$11.52 per share in 2010, above a target set back in 2007, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
