Financial firm uses digital certicates for customers

By

Financial services firm Wachovia Corporation has implemented RSA Keonâ digital certificate management software to secure access to its customers’ financial information.

Wachovia Corporation provides investment banking services and asset management services. The firm is using digital certificates as electronic identification to ensure verify the identity of customers and employees.

"With vast amounts of information flowing through our networks, we needed to ensure our customers that information stored within our applications and on our servers was being accessed securely and exclusively by Wachovia employees," said Tony Suarez, vice president of Wachovia Encryption Technologies. "RSA Keon software allows us to effectively manage and control secure access to business-critical information."

Wachovia has also centralized the administration of its digital certificate policies with RSA Keon software. A spokesman for RSA said this gives Wachovia the ability to distribute certificates in-house and to create digital signatures.
