Fed ex delivered to Microsoft

Edward Gibson has worked in the FBI for the last 20 years and since 2002, has served as the FBI's legal attaché in the UK, where he was responsible for establishing alliances between UK police agencies, security services and the FBI and private sector companies.

Gibson has sought to tackle cross-border organised and white-collar crime, terrorist financing and also fraud in the financial and healthcare sectors.

Nick McGrath, the head of platform strategy for Microsoft believes that Gibson's experience within the security field will benefit the company.

"As a specialist in tracking and prosecuting criminals, Ed will help ensure that enterprises and public sector bodies more effectively integrate their security procedures," he said.

Gibson has been registered as an attorney in the US and licensed as a solicitor in the UK. He is set to replace Stuart Okin who recently moved to consultant firm Accenture. Gibson will not join Microsoft until July this year.
