US-based IP exchange operator Equinix has added two new services to its suite of managed offerings for Asia-Pacific customers.

Equinix said in a statement that it had added a network infrastructure management service called Smart Admin and a monitoring service called Smart Watch to its Equinix Command Center suite of services.

Philip Koen, head of Equinix Asia-Pacific, said the service provider saw expanding managed services locally as important in growing its enterprise customer base.

Managed services complemented Equinix’ core co-location and exchange services product set, Koen said.

Smart Admin targeted customer servers, network and firewall devices. Smart Watch offered IP address, server status and link status monitoring, Equinix said.

“The services are available for customers in the Asia-Pacific market, including Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo,” the company said.

Smart Admin and Smart Watch would be supported by Equinix technicians with regular maintenance and emergency assistance.
