Connectivity cloud company Cloudflare has appointed Steve Bray as head of Australia & New Zealand.
Bray brings with him almost 25 years of experience across innovative cloud-based software companies and has held leadership positions in multinational tech companies like Salesforce and Zendesk.
Prior to Cloudflare, Bray was the regional vice president at Zendesk.
Commenting on his appointment, Bray said, “Amidst the rising volumes of cybersecurity incidents, Cloudflare is at the forefront of helping businesses secure applications, devices, and users in an ever-changing, complex threat environment.
“With Cloudflare’s vision for the future of the Internet in mind, I’m eager to continue helping our customers in Australia and New Zealand, while building our brand, local team, and partner ecosystem.”
In a blog post, Bray said, “I’ve been fortunate over my 25-year career in the IT industry to have worked for some of the most recognised and innovative organisations such as Oracle, Salesforce, and Zendesk.
“It’s been exciting to be inside these businesses as they’ve taken new ideas about how software can be developed and delivered to solve real world problems for any organisation’s customers.”
Bray explained he has learned “a lot” by being a part of the industry.
“But probably more importantly, I’ve learned the most from the smart, experienced, diverse groups of talented people that I’ve had the pleasure to work with in ANZ and across Asia Pacific,” he said.
“I have always been interested in the problems that organisations are trying to solve through technology — for example, responding to strategic challenges, reducing cost, improving revenue, reducing risk — and joining Cloudflare is an opportunity to stay focussed on addressing those critical issues with our customers and partners using Cloudflare’s innovative solutions.”
Jonathon Dixon, vice president and managing director, Asia Pacific, Japan, and China at Cloudflare said, “Our customers today have access to faster, more reliable, and more secure Internet experiences than ever before, and with Steve Bray’s extensive experience in the ANZ region, we look forward to providing more customers with the solutions they need to work, develop, and accelerate their business.”
Cloudflare first expanded its network to Sydney in 2012. The global network spans more than 310 cities in more than 120 countries, including 11 cities in Australia, New Zealand, and Oceania.
