A spokesperson for Standard Chartered confirmed to iTnews that Illuz has taken up the role of global head of operations for cyber, data, privacy and automation.

Illuz will report to David Whiteing, who was appointed group chief operations officer at Standard Chartered in September last year.

“In this new role, Yuval will play a leading role to rapidly improve the group's information and cyber security control environment,” Standard Chartered said in a statement.

“This will include driving the adoption of automation and self-service capabilities across the bank and to look at ways to improve centralisation and consolidation of teams, processes and technologies.”

Illuz left CBA in September last year. During his 1.5 years there, he initiated a restructure of the bank's cyber security operations that resulted in some job losses.
