Broadband service provider, Internode has claimed a 25 percent increase in year on year revenues based on strong demand for its services.

According to a spokesperson for the company, revenues for the financial year ending June 31 2005 were $40 million.

GM Pat Tapper said the company was now on target for $50 million for the current financial year.

According to Tapper, demand for services had been "explosive” even over the usually quiet Christmas and New Year periods.

Staffing levels had also increased in line with the company's record growth, he said. Thirty new staff had been appointed in the last three months and as many places again remained to be filled.

These staff were being recruited across the board, with a particular focus on customer service roles such as help desk, sales and accounts, tapper said.

As well as broadband Internet access, Internode offers NodePhone, a voice over broadband service, private national networks for companies. It has also recently expanded its coverage in regional areas.
