Online research firm Hitwise reported that Answers.com was the 134th most popular website visited by US internet users based on market share of visits. This compares to 165th most popular three months ago.
Answers.com is in the process of upgrading its website by allowing visitors to double-click on any word on the site to look it up, a feature that will shortly be available to bloggers and webmasters for use on their own sites.
The company has also added approximately 20 new content titles, including encyclopaedias of company histories, contemporary fashion, espionage, intelligence and security, American history and children's health.
Answers.com is also in the process of integrating FAQ Farm, now called WikiAnswers, a community-based Q&A site using the wiki approach of developing answers that the community constantly improves.
"We are pleased that our traffic has bounced back and exceeded pre-holiday levels," said Bob Rosenschein, chief executive at Answers.com.
