A Sydney woman has been charged after she allegedly altered data in her employer's computer systems in a bid to extract over $123,000.

The woman was said to have worked for the unnamed company as an administration officer from January 2008 until November 2010.

The alleged fraud was reported to police in May 2011.

Investigations by St Marys Police in Sydney's west led to the arrest of the 46-year-old from the suburb of Hazelbrook.

She was charged with a number of fraud-related offences and given conditional bail to appear in Penrith Local Court on 27 July 2011.
