Users are required to insert a compatible 3 Mobile broadband Internet key or USB modem into the router to share their data allowance.

It is being targeted primarily at consumers and also small businesses, the company said in a statement.

3 said the wireless router is ‘recommended to be securely used by two to four people at one time’.

The router will cost $129 outright. 3 has wireless mobile broadband plans ranging from 1 GB to 7 GB in size.

The modem is compatible with the Huawei USB modems, and Internet key models E160G & E169G.
