The finalists for the Women in AI 2023 awards have been announced with the ceremony to take place on June 16.
The awards feature nominees from Australia, New Zealand, Japan, India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Malaysia and Taiwan.
In response to the standard of entries across the Asia Pacific, and across 18 categories, this year the awards finalists have been narrowed to just two finalists in each category.
This is reflective of the exceedingly high standard of awards WAI said they have received, and the overall closeness of results in the final judging.
Angela Kim, Australian ambassador for WAI said, “It is with great pleasure to see so many amazing women in AI working quietly advancing AI in many areas. Congratulations to all finalists who have made this far and best of the best luck to you.”
The invitation-only event will commence with a separate awards ceremony in the Domain Theatre to recognise, reward and celebrate the achievements of women in AI across APAC- followed by a Gala Dinner in the Gallery’s Entrance Court.
Each of this year’s 18 awards categories are judged on innovation, leadership and inspiration; their global potential and impact, and the ability of their AI solution to provide positive outcomes for their community and citizens.
Every winner will benefit from endorsement, prestige, recognition, opportunities for collaboration, and extensive media exposure, while the top winners will share in a $50,000 prize pool and additional valuable prizes graciously offered by our Community and VC Partners.
Surrounded by a display of the best of international and Australian art, the visually spectacular arena creates a unique space where 350 guests from the AI and business community can network and celebrate in recognition of the winners and finalists of the WAI Women in AI Awards.
This year’s awards return to Sydney on 16 June 2023 at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
