The MEOW Mk.III boasts twice the capacity of its Mk.II predecessor. It can support 768 ADSL2+ services (up from 330), 780 PSTN lines (up from 330) and 16 ISDN lines. (Photo courtesy Telstra)

The MEOW Mk.III will also "now support Payphones and EFTPOS / ATM Services for the first time", according to Telstra. Unavailability of such crucial services caused major problems after the Warrnambool exchange fire late last year. MEOWs were drafted into the recovery effort. (Photo courtesy Telstra)
