Enable deals with the earthquake aftermath.

The worst, in February, caused 181 deaths and the need to demolish 10,000 buildings left standing or damaged by the quakes. (Credit: Mat Watkins/Enable Networks)

Trouble came too for fibre providers, with many telcos suffering fibre cuts and significant damage as the city base dropped 500mm over the course of the quakes. Enable Networks appeared to have escaped relatively unscathed, however. (Credit: Mat Watkins/Enable Networks)

Liquefaction - the emergence and drying of mud as an after-effect of the quakes - has become the biggest headache for most businesses and telcos in the aftermath.
