PKWare expands reach of SecureZIP

PKWARE announced this week [jan.21] that it launched a series of initiatives to expand the availability of the its SecureZIP technology and PKZIP Reader product.

The company, a maker of ZIP data-compression products, said the initiatives involve adding international support and distribution channels, including licensing the technology to other vendors. For example, WinZip will incorporate the technology into an upcoming beta relase of its product to allow decryption of password-protected SecureZIP files.


PKWARE, based in Brown Deer, Wis., is the creator of the ZIP standard used for data compresson.
