The future of work is globally distributed teams: Remote CRO

By

Rise of a global workforce.

The future of work brings many trends, some leaders believe the future of work is hybrid working, and others support the idea of globally distributed teams.

Employees also support working remotely with a Gartner report explaining that 80 percent of workers expect to continue working from home in the future.

Another survey from BCG highlighted that 81 percent of Australian knowledge workers expressed a desire for location flexibility, and 95 percent for schedule flexibility.

Speaking to Digital Nation, Chris McNamara, chief revenue officer at Remote discussed why globally distributed employees are the future of work.

“Our view is the single biggest trend impacting the future of work is globally distributed teams,” he said.

“Our perspective is what started as a reaction to the global pandemic has become an awakening to the benefits of remote work and distributed teams on the part of both employers and employees.”

To ensure a good work-life balance within the hybrid work culture, another Gartner report noted that CEOs and HR leaders must work together to ensure work-life balance swings back and forth for each employee as their work distribution, time and life stages change.

The ability to peer into the future will make work infinitely easier for HR leaders.

McNamara said a lot of research has been published highlighting that companies who embrace remote work are seeing employees with higher levels of self-rated job satisfaction.

“They're reporting higher levels of employee retention and even higher levels of productivity,” he said.

“It's incredible from the perspective of those employees gaining access to that greater freedom and flexibility. There are also very meaningful benefits for the employer as well.”
