Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg recently bought his first house for a modest $US7 million, ending his years as one of the world’s wealthiest renters.

Zuckerberg becomes first-home buyer

The 26 year old’s first home -- a 1,700 square metre, five bedder with five bathrooms -- is just 10 minutes from the company’s Palo Alto headquarters at Sun Microsystem’s former headquarters, according to a report by Silicon Vallley news site, The Mercury.

The publication opted not to print the address “because of concerns for the privacy” of the sellers and Zuckerberg.

A celebrity-focused blog Real Estalker however claimed to have found the house, and posted an image of the property that was built in 1903.

Zuckerberg's house included a saltwater lap-pool and spa and was set well back from the street, behind walls and privacy hedges.

More photos have been posted of the inside of Zuckerberg's new abode by celebrity news site, Gawker.

Until now Zuckerberg had found all his rental apartments using Craigslist, according to a recent New Yorker profile.
