The launch of the new facility, which is located in Sydney, is said to reflect an increased demand for information protection and control among enterprises in the region.
The facility will be headed up by Colin Lim, who is Utimaco’s Regional Manager, Australia and New Zealand.
Lim joined the organisation in July 2008 after working with various global IT security vendors including Reflex Security and Fortinet.
“Our aim is to build our channel in order to help Australian and New Zealand enterprises and government departments meet their growing data protection needs,” he said in a statement.
“Data leakage prevention (DLP) has been identified as a key technology for organisations requiring a comprehensive solution to protect all their data – whether at rest or in motion.”
“Utimaco’s world leading products meet the increasing demand for uniform data security policies across all devices that hold or transport data. It also presents strong new business opportunities for A/NZ resellers,” he said.
Utimaco’s local customers are said to include government agencies, insurance companies, banks, and a range of commercial entities such as Bayer and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
