Sympli appoints new CIO

E-settlements service Sympli has hired Staffan Flodin has its new Chief Information Officer (CIO).

Staffan will lead the engineering, development and IT teams at Sympli as it continues to deliver on its commitment to achieving the ministerial interoperability deadline of mid-2023.

With over with over 25 years’ experience in software development delivery, Staffan brings to the role an extensive knowledge of technology, project management, architecture, development and research in both in service provider environments and the software vendor environment.

Staffan has successfully delivered a range of complex projects such as network rollouts, business migrations, system migrations to cloud and complex software releases and will use this experience to further develop Sympli’s technology infrastructure.

Prior to joining Sympli, Staffan held a number of executive technology and information roles, most recently at Avant Mutual and SmartClinics. He has experience ranging from small start-ups to international corporations.

Sympli Chief Executive Officer, Philip Joyce, said, “Building out Sympli’s technology and software capabilities is central to our success, and it is important that we have someone of Staffan’s calibre to lead our team on the next step of this journey as we aim to achieve interoperability by 2023, in line with the mandated ministerial timeline.
