
The quarterly report also shows that three quarters of SMBs have fewer than ten people working in IT, and 61 per cent have never sought information about how to protect customer and employee data.
“Unlike larger corporations, SMBs often lack the monetary resources and IT expertise to install and maintain the type of protection needed in the face of today’s growing malware threats,” said Peter Watkins, CEO of Webroot Software, in a statement.
The survey questioned small and medium-sized companies in the UK, France, Germany, US, Canada and Japan.
