Sigaba, a supplier of secure messaging products, announced Tuesday that its Sigaba Security Library Version 1.2 was awarded FIPS 140-2 certification from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the Communication Security Establishment.

All of Sigaba's products use the newly certified library for cryptographic operations. FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standards) 140-2 is used as a cryptographic benchmark for government agencies.

Sigaba's FIPS-approved algorithms include Triple-DES, AES, SHA-1, HMAC-SHA-1, RSA, Diffie-Hellman, Triple DES/ECB mode and DSA.
