Enhancements to NetWeaver include process integration and adaptive computing tools, which SAP said would give firms a strong platform that would let them innovate and test new strategies without disrupting mission-critical operations.
The process integration release is a single service-oriented architecture middleware offering that combines an enterprise service bus, 3,000 pre-packaged integration templates, and technical and application adaptors.
SAP said that this would let companies bypass technical integration bottlenecks and quickly "deliver positive business impacts".
The Adaptive Computing Controller provides a central point of control for managers looking to improve their use of virtualisation and assign computing resources to run any service on any server at any time. The tool is able to operate physical as well as virtual servers in the data centre, SAP said.
"The new additions and enhancements to SAP NetWeaver further demonstrate SAP's commitment to providing a comprehensive technology platform that simplifies customers' use of IT," said Hervé Couturier, head of development for SAP NetWeaver.
"We will continue to deliver ways in which businesses can maximise their agility and competitive edge through our integrated strategic platform."
