According to Netcraft, a British internet services company, the site has not been reachable for six days, owing to a continued distributed denial of service (DDOS) attack by a variant of the MyDoom worm.
This, the current outage, beats the four-day outage in the summer of
2002. This time around, it appears that, since the problem stems from a worm variant, it is going to be difficult to stop.

Although Netcraft says the attack on the RIAA site is expected to ease later today, unconfirmed reports on the usenet suggest the DDOS attack sill continue for several days more.
