Reflex Security establish Australian presence
Intrusion prevention systems (IPS) vendor Reflex Security is launching on Australian shores and is in discussion with local distributors.

The US-based vendor has appointed Colin Lim as sales director for Australia and New Zealand. Prior to joining Reflex Lim worked at unified threat management (UTM) vendor Fortinet.

Lim said Reflex previously operated solely in the US, but has obtained the budget to expand across the APAC region.

“We will operate a two-tier channel in Australia and New Zealand, and we are currently in discussions with a couple of distributors.”

Lim said Reflex is looking to recruit VARs who understand the virtualisation and security markets.

“Our aim is to appoint a distributor this quarter and sign resellers over the same period. We want 15 to 20 resellers in Australia and New Zealand by the end of the year.”

Lim claimed Reflex has a unique product for the virtualisation space and the vendor hopes to develop the market for virtual security appliances, and then dominate the space.
