An SC Magazine journalist embarrassed security firm Sybari by sending a worm through its anti-virus product at a press demonstration in Amsterdam this week.

Product manager for Syabri software Sasa Radosevic was displeased when the worm, a version of MyMail.v, penetrated the firm's Antigen product.

"With our product we use third-party engine vendors, like Sophos and Symantec," said Radosevic. "Once they identify a new threat, they will provide a new fix. With file filtering, we give customers the tools – it's up to them to filter the content."

Radosevic invited the ten journalists to send pre-tested viruses to the Antigen product as part of the demonstration. When asked if it was possible to test other viruses, Radosevic paused and said, "What kind of viruses?"

Sybari is attending Microsoft's TechEd exhibition in Amsterdam.
