Origin Energy has elevated long-serving Alvin Rubyono to the role of chief information security officer (CISO).

Origin Energy has a new CISO

Rubyono has spent over 12 years with the energy provider in various security roles, most recently as head of cyber defence and identity protection.

He replaces Christoph Strizik, who recently joined Medibank to lead "IT security, risk and compliance", in addition to holding the title of CISO.

“I am grateful for the privilege and the opportunity to lead Origin Energy in the next chapter of our cyber security vision and strategy,” Rubyono wrote on LinkedIn.

“To the Origin Energy leadership team, and also my predecessor, thank you for your vote of confidence and support as I take on this exciting new challenge.”

An Origin spokesperson confirmed Rubyono’s appointment as Strizik’s replacement to iTnews.

Prior to joining Origin in 2012, Rubyono spent over five years at consultancy EY.
