Australian system builder Optima Technology Solutions has appointed William Hamzey as channel sales manager, replacing Michael Calculli who quit in December.

In the past three months, Hamzey had overseen Optima’s channel business as acting channel team leader.

He has worked for Optima for six years in various business development roles, working in government, education and channel markets.

He started working with channels in 2004 where he was channel business development manager, Optima said.

“Our resellers are our business partners – they are essential to the growth of our business and the fulfilment of our ‘3x3’ vision of achieving $300 million in revenue within the next three years, said Cornel Ung, managing director at Optima.

“William has an in-depth understanding of the channel. As channel sales manager, he will effectively maintain our strong channel partnerships and continue to expand our active reseller base, further perpetuating Optima’s positive channel growth,” Ung said.

Calculli moved across to Lexar as sales manager for Australia and New Zealand.
