The NBN Tasmania network operations centre will officially launch tomorrow with three staff, according to contracted operator Opticomm.
Communications Minister Stephen Conroy will open the centre at Derwent Park in North Hobart.
Opticomm was awarded contracts as part of the stage one Tasmanian NBN rollout to provide active equipment, connect street fibre to homes and run the network operations centre (NOC).
The NOC would start with three staffers - augmented by Opticomm's existing Perth NOC for its greenfields fibre business.
"At the moment our contract is for stage one," Opticomm general manager Phil Smith told iTnews.
"If we were transition to stage two [of TNBN], obviously we'd ramp the NOC up."
