Mitsubishi Electric Australia has announced a name change to its IT product portfolio. The original four divisions, currently known as Diamond View, Diamond Voice, Diamond Data and Touch will now fall under the same banner, Diamond Digital.

Richard Freggi, general manager of Mitsubishi's Digital Electronics Group, described the move as: "Rationalising everything under a single brand". The name change will also incorporate a new "all encompassing logo" which will feature on all new models released into the channel.

Among the new product updates is the new DV175, which Freggi describes as the product that the company most wants the industry to associate with the new name. The new LCD screen will feature a 16ms response time and built-in stereo speakers.

All product updates will gradually enter the channel following the official launch date on 25 February.
