Microsoft to release eight fixes on Patch Tuesday

Microsoft announced Thursday that it will release eight security patches for vulnerabilities in Microsoft Windows, Office and Visual Studio next Tuesday.

Among the eight fixes, three of them will fix flaws in Office, some of which Microsoft has rated as "critical".

It is likely that these will address vulnerabilities found in Word just before last month's patch release. Microsoft has yet to release fixes for these holes despite the software giant confirming that the flaws have been exploited by attackers in limited, targeted attacks.

In addition to the security releases, Microsoft said it plans to release two non-security high-priority updates on Microsoft Update (MU) and Windows Server Update Services (WSUS).

It will also provide an updated version of the Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool.
