Map software vendor MapInfo spruiks Australian partners

By

US location intelligence software vendor MapInfo is holding partner showcases as part of its Australian user forums from 30 March to 12 May.

The forums include technical briefings, such as on the Geo-coded National Address File (GNAF) and a keynote talk by MapInfo Group vice-president of sales and marketing, Gavin Lennox, the company said.

MapInfo said it would also launch its locally-developed, .NET-based “Exponare” software as part of this year's MapWorld User Forums roadshow but had so far made no further details available on the product.

MapInfo aims to raise awareness of its products to boost local sales, the company said.

Brian Cartwright, GM at MapInfo Australasia and south-east Asia, said “location-based solutions” were playing an increasing role in many sectors, such as government, banking and finance, telecommunications, healthcare, mining and retail.

The MapWorld forum runs in Perth on 30 March, Adelaide on 31 March, Canberra on 1 April, Brisbane on 5 April, Hobart on 5 April, Sydney on 6 April, Melbourne on 7 April and Darwin on 12 May.
