Macquarie Group will join Telstra in its adoption of SecDevOps through the creation of a new “cyber protection services” team.

The “newly-formed” team is being “charged with creating future ready services that protect Macquarie's data from external threats”. SecDevOps aims to embed secure coding into the heart of development and operations.
The bank so far has revealed plans to recruit team members to cover the protection of infrastructure hosting and information domains.
The infrastructure role covers “on-premises and cloud hosting platforms” and seeks the development of security patterns and operation of services “such as database access management and host endpoint protection.”
A second role targeting “cyber information protection” involves the “design, build and operation of application security solutions across technologies including data loss prevention, information rights management, and endpoint threat management to meet business, service and lifecycle requirements,” Macquarie said.
A Macquarie spokesperson has been contacted for additional comment.
Macquarie’s adoption of SecDevOps coincides with that of Telstra, which last week unveiled plans to create a new team called Secure Code that will be charged with securing every line of source code the telco – and its contractors – produce.
