Korean authorities are stepping up the fight against spam.

The Korean Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) said it wants to strengthen anti-spam technologies and laws.

Spammers wishing to advertise on mobile devices will be required to obtain an agreement from mobile services providers.

In January, the Korean National Assembly passed an anti-spam law, where spammers could be fined up to 30 million Won ($30,000 US).
