Oracle claims it has gained new Australian customers for its JD Edwards applications

JD Edwards demand soars in Australia
Uptake of Oracle’s JD Edwards applications has grown across Australia, according to the database giant.

The vendor claimed the rise in demand has been seen with a flood of new customers. Oracle said the growth of new customer adoption represents the culmination of Oracle’s efforts in the past twelve months to bring back the JD Edwards brand in Australia.

Software firm JD Edwards was acquired by PeopleSoft in 2004, which was in turn acquired by Oracle the same year.

Scott Dawes, general manager of applications for Oracle Australia and New Zealand, said the JD Edwards’ community in Australia continues to grow.

“In the last two quarters of FY06, we have secured seven major new customers. And, existing JD Edwards customers in Australia have been impressed with our commitment to continue support their investment. We, together with our partners, are fully committed to extending and evolving the solution into the future,” he added.
