(ISC)2 publishes free guide on hiring information security experts

By

(ISC)2, the international information systems security certification consortium, has developed a free reference guide to assist HR professionals in recruiting information security specialists.

The Hiring Guide to the Information Security Profession was compiled by (ISC)2 with collaboration from HR and recruiting professionals. It contains tips on how to recruit and retain qualified information security specialists and includes a list of online resources. The booklet also comprises details of the job functions and possible career paths of typical information security experts.

As companies are placed under increasing pressure to protect their IT systems, the role of information security professionals becomes increasingly invaluable. Eddie Zeitler, CISSP, executive director, (ISC)2, said: “Hiring first-rate information security staff is critical to mitigating risks that can destroy a company’s reputation, violate privacy, result in the theft or destruction of intellectual property, and even endanger lives.”

The guide is available in printed format and to download from the (ISC)2 Hiring Resource Center via the link below.
