Global resources company INPEX has handed Transfield Worley a contract to collect, validate and compile data inputs for the asset management and integrity systems of the Ichthys liquefied natural gas (LNG) project.

The contract is for the first phase in what is expected to be a "three phased contract". Work on the first phase will begin this month.
A worldwide team would be engaged by Transfield Worley — which is a 50-50 joint venture by Transfield Services and WorleyParsons — to perform the works.
Transfield subsidiary Hofincons will deliver the maintenance data preparation and management services within INPEX's computerised maintenance management system (CMMS), according to a statement.
The deal is one of a number of parcels of work awarded for the Ichthys project over the past fortnight.
Not all of the contracts have included technology components, though iTnews reported last week that Leighton Contractors would roll out fibre conduit as part of the construction of an "Operations Complex" for the Ichthys project.
