Hackshall joins Icon in February, bringing over 25 years of industry experience across a diverse range of industries, including insurance, finance, marketing, and logistics.

This role is vital for Icon Group as the company said it plans to extend its digital services and information technology platforms to serve our patients better and transform digital healthcare.

In his most recent role as chief information officer for Cochlear, David led business transformation initiatives to drive growth and position Cochlear as the world leader in customer experience for its sector.

Mark Middleton, CEO at Icon Group said, “I am confident Hackshall will lead us into the next Icon chapter. His depth of experience will enable Icon to continue implementing world-class IT services and digital solutions for our teams, partners and most importantly, our patients.

“Wide-scale digital evolution is a critical component underpinning our strategic plan, and with Hackshall at the helm, we will be able to advance our digital healthcare solutions across a global network to improve the patient experience.”

Hackshall commented on his appointment via a LinkedIn post, “After a wonderful and fulfilling 7+ years leading the technology function at Cochlear, I’m thrilled to announce I will be joining Icon Group in February as chief digital officer.

“Icon has seen significant growth in the past few years and I look forward to playing a part in their next phase of growth as healthcare continues to evolve on a digital stage. Hackshall will commence his role on 1 February 2023 and will lead the Icon Group IT team with a key focus on supporting business strategy through the deployment of technologies to deliver world-class operational excellence.

Icon Group is Australia’s largest dedicated cancer care provider and has expanded globally into Singapore, Mainland China, Hong Kong and New Zealand.
