StorageWorks SB40c promises increased server density.

HP unveils blade chassis storage module
HP has unveiled the first storage module for its blade chassis, offering up to 876GB of direct attached Raid storage.

The module fits inside HP's new c-Class blade chassis that the vendor unveiled earlier this year.

The blade system offers increased server density over current rack-based server systems while allowing users to mix and match processing and storage components inside one chassis.

HP targets the new systems at demanding applications such as file and print servers as well as messaging, video streaming, databases and distributed systems.

The StorageWorks SB40c blade is scheduled for availability on 14 November for a starting price of US$1,599.
