The banking arm of Heartland Group announced on Tuesday Dixon will officially step into the role on July 1.

The company stated that Dixon’s “extensive experience and leadership across technology and operations will contribute to advancing Heartland Bank’s technology and operational growth ambitions.”

Dixon shifts to Heartland Bank from buy now, pay later company humm group, where he was the chief information officer for three and a half years.

At Heartland Bank (previously known as Challenger Bank and MyLife MyFinance), Dixon will report directly to acting Heartland Bank CEO, Chris Flood.

Dixon will continue to report to Flood, until Michelle Winzer starts her role as CEO on 22 July.

Flood told Digital Nation, “We are very pleased to welcome Vaughan Dixon to the new role of chief technology and operations officer for Heartland Bank.

“Vaughan’s strong leadership and experience will contribute to advancing Heartland Bank’s technology and operational growth, and build a more scalable and efficient operations function.”

Zvonko Balic held the CTO spot for around three months after transitioning over to the role from his position at Challenger Bank.

Balic is set to provide support across the upcoming months on some targeted transformation work.

Heartland Group completed its acquisition of Challenger Bank at the end of April this year, which saw a number of executive changes take place.
