Gaurav Singh

Singh went from being a support resource at the energy provider to the top JAPAC Oracle database administrator - so named by Oracle - within just 18 months.

Singh skilled himself up on database technology to design a parallel footprint to Energy Australia's main Oracle information management platform that provided a dedicated development, pre-production, and disaster recovery environment.

It meant Energy Australia could build solutions without spending more money on hardware and software, while ensuring business continuity and protecting the core from the impact of experimentation.

Singh is now the resident expert at Energy Australia on database matters.

"I'm quite proud to have this," Singh said.

"I just want to say thanks to the larger team that I’ve been a part of."

You can read more about Singh's work alongside the other winning projects in the iTnews Benchmark Awards 2018 special edition report.

Winners were announced at the iTnews Benchmark Awards held as part of Adapt Ventures' CIO Edge Experience at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne.
