EDS has made a senior appointment aimed at building its credibility and connections in the Australian and New Zealand defence sector.

The services company has added Louis Rago – formerly a commodore with the Royal Australian Navy for 30 years - as its client industry executive for defence.

Rago has been consulting to the defence sector on change management, business process transformation and HR, since leaving the RAN in 2003.

He will also head a new team designed to leverage EDS’ US and UK interests in the sector.

These include a government IT contract for the US naval department and leads the Atlas Consortium, which is currently developing defence information infrastructure for the UK Ministry of Defence.

Rago will be based in Canberra.
