Cybersecurity company DataStealth has appointed Sean Coady as regional sales director APJ to accelerate the adoption throughout the region.
He previously held similar roles at Proofpoint, Recorded Future, and Akamai, where he developed a reputation as a visionary responsible for bringing unique problem-solving technology solutions to the APJ region.
Coady tells Digital Nation Australia his plans for the next 12 months, “Given the nature of bringing something unlike anything else into the market, the next 12 months are about education towards our channel partners and potential customers on how we can reduce the friction on the adoption of the cloud including data protection.
“Most companies now have a cloud-first policy and with Datex, we can reduce that risk of sharing PII, PHI and PCI data regardless of the stage of the journey the customer is on. During this time, I will build a small, focused, like-minded team to support this journey.”
Coady said, “The recent publication of PCI DSS V4.0, with its enhanced and complex requirements, is a prime example of where DataStealth provides incredible value and relief to our customers by significantly reducing the scope of their PCI DSS compliance audit requirements.”
On deciding to work with DataStealth Coady said, “The opportunity to build a team that can make a real change to how data protection is approached with a Canadian HQ leadership team that holds the same cultural values as I was exciting.
“The Datex Datastealth leadership drove my decision ahead of the technology. I was delighted to see the technology was exceptional as well.”
Ed Leavens, CEO at Datex DataStealth, "We had not planned on moving into the APJ region ahead of the US, the typical path for Canadian technology companies.
“Our change in priorities was based on mounting word-of-mouth success, a growing customer base across Australia and New Zealand, and a renewed focus amongst organisations in the APJ region to ensure that their customer’s data is protected and remains inside the APJ region.”
Coady has worked in the technology vendor space since 2007 which he said is a “variety of roles usually in early-stage teams wearing multiple hats.”
Datex has been developing software solutions to address complex business problems since 1991.
DataStealth, Datex’s cybersecurity solution, is a patented, proven technology that can protect an organisation's most valuable assets - its sensitive data and documents – from being accessed and exfiltrated by unauthorised parties.
