As a direct result of the upcoming elections no MPs have stepped up to back a private members bill looking to reform the Computer Misuse Act.
If changed, hackers and creators of malware would face tougher fines and restrictions.
The Government has apparently given the All Party Parliamentary Internet Group (Apig), a selection of IT savvy MPs, assurances that the bill be reform after the election (which the Labour Party are expected to win).
Representatives of Apig are to fly to Washington DC on February 7, to streghten trans-atlantic anti-spam ties.
