BigPond has apologised, following yesterday's revelations that an ad about Australian Idol winner Casey Donovan included a URL for a porn site.

As reported by iTnews yesterday, a website link in an advertisement that ran in two newspapers about Australian Idol winner Casey Donovan directed readers to an explicit gay porn DVD shopping site dedicated to the work of the 'world's first gay porn actor', Casey Donovan.

Craig Middleton, corporate affairs manager at BigPond, said it deeply regretted the inclusion of the incorrect website address in the ad. According to a statement from Telstra, the correct site is www.caseydonovan.com.au.

"Since being alerted to the error we have taken a number of steps to reduce the risk of customers accessing the incorrect site, including the placement of a page on the BigPond service which will direct BigPond customers to the Australian Casey Donovan website," Middleton said.

"BigPond apologises for any embarrassment or offence to Ms Donovan, her family and to anyone who has accessed the incorrect website."

Darren Ellis contributed to this story.
