Disspain steps in next year.

Chris Disspain, the chief of Australia's domain name regulator auDA, has been appointed to the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers board.

ICANN is the not-for-profit that oversees the operation of the internet's domain name system.

According to a statement, Disspain was elected unopposed to fill the seat currently held by ICANN Chairman, Peter Dengate-Thrush.

He will take up the role in June next year.
