Version 10.5.6 of the operating system, code-named "Leopard," includes fixes for seven Adobe Flash vulnerabilities, several of which could be exploited to execute arbitrary code.
Adobe had patched those flaws in November when it updated Flash to version 9.0.151.0. However, users of the media player are being encouraged to upgrade to version 10, released Oct. 15.
Monday's Apple update includes a number of other vulnerabilities that could result in attack code, comprised of flaws in CoreGraphics, Libsystem and the BOM (Bill of Materials) file system.
All of the bugs impact the Leopard platform, but at least 15 also affect Mac OS 10.4, code-named "Tiger."
Users are encouraged to apply the patches through Software Update or by visiting here. This marked Apple's eight OS security update of the year.
