Anyware Computer Accessories has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Taiwanese mobile peripheral player i-Rocks.
i-Rocks -- which has a Taiwan-based R&D team and production facilities in mainland China -- manufacturers a range of keyboards, optical mice, USB hubs, card readers and hard disk drive enclosures.
Garrison Huang, managing director at Anywhere, said the distributor had stocked i-Rocks products for a few months, but the announcement was "signifying that we have a formal arrangement in Australia and New Zealand."
He said the design, presentation and packaging of i-Rocks' peripherals was unique in the market. The products come in several colours and the optical mice in particular had retractable cords, he said.
Meanwhile, Anywhere was "in the process of signing" communications headset player Plantronics. The company had already taken some stock and would focus on selling the company's PC and Bluetooth (wireless) headsets.
He suggested that Plantronics had a combined PC and telephone headset pending release. While Plantronics deals directly with the larger retail channel, Anyware would target the independent reseller channel as a result of the arrangement, Huang said.
