The agency is rolling out a cloud development program underpinned by the pillars of legacy modernisation, cyber security and transformation.

In a statement to iTnews, the AGD said its goals and outcomes are to “reduce costs, increase cyber security posture, provide enhanced client services and user experience to the consumers and users of AGD digital capabilities”.

“AGD’s ICT strategy will move the agency to be cloud native organisation,” a spokesperson added.

The AGD currently has 20 percent of its workloads and applications in public cloud environments hosted by Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure.

The remaining 80 percent are on-premises.

According to the AGD, its workloads currently in the cloud include several custom-built business systems alongside some software-as-a-service applications.

All workloads are in either private or colocation data centres that are part of the DTA Hosting Certification Framework, the AGD added.
