Acer ramps up retail with Retravision

By

Acer Computer Australia has signed a deal with giant electronics retailer Retravision.

Retravision gets the rights to stock Acer desktops, notebooks and handheld PCs in some 500 stores across Australia.

Keith Perkin, national CEO at Retravision, said the strategic partnership should grow both parties.

"The IT category in Retravision is showing strong growth and this new relationship will enable us to drive the category harder together," Perkin said.

Greg Mikaelian, national channel manager at Acer, said retail sales for the hardware vendor had grown more than 200 percent in the first quarter of 2004.

"We believe that our nationwide partnership with Retravision stores will help strengthen our presence in this area," he said.

Mikaelian said he believed Retravision had a strong focus on product quality, customer satisfaction and strong partner relationships.

Acer has been operating for some 14 years in Australia. It has 320 employees in Australia and offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Canberra, Adelaide, Brisbane and Hobart. It also has Uniload, a $15 million build-to-order division in Sydney.
