The lead up: NSW Police already on watch as iTnews heads up Martin Place to the protest site.
The clock strikes noon. But where are the protesters?
No doubt the NSW Police are wondering the same thing...
Wonder no more... after 15 minutes most of the officers make a move back to the station, leaving a lone officer to keep watch.
Found! Protesters gather further up Martin Place in preparation for the protest.
The lone on-duty officer wanders up to the protesters for a bit of a joke. He tells them they should be ashamed because a protest against the cancellation of the Rock Eisteddfod had more attendees.
The protest group makes their way down Martin Place to the protest site. One or two shout 'No Censorship' and several unfurl Chinese flags.
Protesters stand in a group. As it happened they were waiting for some placards and flyers to distribute to passing Sydneysiders.
With placards finally arriving, the protest starts to look like a protest.
